 Simmer Down is an energetic and fun loving trio that excites and livens up
all audiences from the young to the old. The music the band performs can
best be described as Americana / Bluegrass with elements of folk,
country rock, blues and even a little reggae thrown in for good
measure.
Simmer Down prides itself in the original songs it crafts and strong
three part vocals highlight the music. Simmer Down consists of
Morgan Whaley - guitar and vocals, Russ Matis - mandolin, fiddle, flute,
and vocals and David Fetherston - bass and vocals. The Colorado based band has
been performing since 2000, but Morgan and David have been playing
together in various country rock and bluegrass bands since 1979. All the band
members are experienced veterans of the concert stage and have
opened shows for various recording artists ie: John Prine, Roger McGwin,
Riders In The Sky, John Cowen, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. With their
enthusiasm and love of what they do, Simmer Down is guaranteed to
bring joy and a good time to any occasion.
